The data above is pointing to lower then expected walking participation among people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire with 36% of people never walking and half of the people in Notts walking infrequently (once or twice a week):

  • Younger adults (16-34)
  • People in lower socio-economic groups (People struggling financially))
  • People with limiting illnesses/health conditions/disabilities
  • Black and Asian communities (66% and 46% inactive respectively)
  • Students and unemployed people
