Discover a fresh way to boost your mental wellbeing and connect with others in Nottingham. Designed for local residents who may be feeling socially isolated, lonely and would like a natural boost whilst walking along the regions blue corridors. As we steadily walk along the beautiful waterways towpaths and river paths, you’ll be part of a supportive community, sharing experiences and fostering new friendships. #lifesbetterbywate.

You will explore the stunning canals and rivers in our care, taking in the picturesque scenery and amazing wildlife. Our friendly, knowledgeable guides will be with you every step of the way, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. You will have an introduction to looking at plants that could be foraged. Please note you will not be picking anything. Don’t miss this chance to lift your spirits, keep active and fall in love with the waterways in Nottingham, all while improving your mental wellbeing. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the ever changing weather conditions, comfortable, layers, a raincoat and sun or woolly hat. Remember your suncream too. After the walk buy a hot drink at the library and have a natter if you wish.

Meeting at Nottingham Central Library 1 Carrington Street NG1 7FH at 10.30 am, and walk along the towpath up to Meadow Lane Lock NG2 3HR and return. We aim to finish at 12.30 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes before to register.
